These small cards are wonderfully slow creations. I took photos of Skipton Rail Trail in Ballarat on a foggy day in winter 2025. Then I learnt how to do photo transfers onto calico. After a bit of experimentation I came up with the card designs. The photographs are transferred onto calico, which is a slow process. The calico is then cut into individual images and glued onto handmade cards. Little white paper inserts are glued inside so the black cards can be written on. Then matching handmade envelopes aare made. Finally a little folder is created out of thick paper to hold 4 of the cards and envelopes.
These cards are called “The Imperfects” because each one is different, the photo transfer process is rough and imperfect, and everything about these cards is handmade.
There are a range of different patterned folders, and there are 10 different card designs. Each folder will have a mystery selection of 4 cards until they are sold out. There are only 6 sets available.
