Our Story Mimosa Studios was born from a shared love of making — a belief that creativity, practised slowly and with purpose, has the power to enrich everyday life. What began as a personal creative practice has grown into a studio that brings together multiple disciplines under one roof: from bold impressionist paintings to delicate textile work and fine art photography.
We are proud to call Ballarat home. The Botanical Gardens, with their sweeping lawns and seasonal blooms, and the quiet expanse of Lake Wendouree have long been muses for our work.
The Artists
Brett Muhlhan — Painter Brett is a quiet creative focused on his practice and the personal rewards of art. His vibrant, bold impressionist work depicts nature — trees, water, gardens, and flowers — alongside occasional conceptual pieces. Many works are stretched and framed by him personally. Some of Brett's paintings are permanently exhibited at the Ballarat Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC).
Kathy Muhlhan — Photographer & Textile Designer Kathy is a Ballarat-based photographer and textile designer who operates Mimosa Studios. Grounding her wide-ranging curiosity in flowers and photography, her smaller works are sold at:
